Cakes & Pies
My favorite part of making cakes is decorating them with seasonal candies, cookies and other treats so depending on how much time I have, I’ll sometimes make my own cakes and frostings, and other times use store bought for either or both.
When I use store-bought cake mixes and frosting, it’s usually Betty Crocker. Her decorating frostings, writing gels and cookie icings are great for simple decor!
When I do make my own, here are some of the recipes I use:
*Healthy Tip: Use eggbeaters instead of eggs and swap in applesauce for some of the oil/butter (~1/2) in these cake recipes.
